return to Cemeteries
This cemetery is located in rural eastern Hernando County in the Withlacoochee State Forest off Croom-Rital Road. It is often misidentified as the Giddens Homestead Cemetery. This is one of the oldest cemeteries in the county and contains graves of descendants of the county's pioneers.
A Cemetery Survey of the known cemeteries of Hernando County was conducted by members of the Genealogy Society of Hernando County for the Hernando Heritage Museum between 1995 and 1998 and is placed on this site with permission. The cemetery surveys have been supplemented with information obtained from published obituaries, Garnett Funeral Home Records and personal knowledge of family members county residents and other sources.
