This cemetery is located north of Ridge Manor in rural Eastern Hernando County and contains the graves of some of Hernando County's earliest residents. Jackson Madison Smith, who is buried in this cemetery was the brother of Sheriff Hop Smith.
A Cemetery Survey of the known cemeteries of Hernando County was conducted by members of the Genealogy Society of Hernando County for the Hernando Heritage Museum between 1995 and 1998 and is placed on this site with permission. The cemetery surveys have been supplemented with information obtained from published obituaries, Garnett Funeral Home Records and personal knowledge of family members county residents and other sources.
