James D Green

James D. Green
Was Born September 28, 1936 in Arcadia, DeSoto County Florida.
He was the son of Mildred E. Ford Green & Jessie James Green.
He was one of nine children born to this couple.
Altho he was born in Arcadia he lived most of his life in Hardee.
As a child he fell off a porch hitting his head on a garden rake.
From then on he would suffer from grand mal seizures.
Today I am sure the results from an accident such as this would not be so terrible.
However in those days things were not so easy. Tho his parents tried to get him help
there simply wasn't any for brain injuries at that time.
He was unable to do alot of things the rest of the world took for granted.
Like he was not allowed to have a license.
So he went to another county without his parent's permission and got his driver license.
After which he had an accident on Main Street in Wauchula.
Thank God no one was hurt.
But his father did, with the law enforcement's help, remove his license.
So he learned to travel by bicycle, he could be found all over Hardee County on that thing.

He married first Shirley A. Mohundro on April 27, 1974 in Wauchula, Florida
They had one child, Susan Lynn Green
He called her Sue Lynn. He named her after two of his sisters
Sue and Linda Green.
They divorced after a few years and he married Margrett King In Wauchula, Florida
Tho they were married about ten years no children were born of this marriage.
They divorced on December 17, 1991 in Wauchula, Florida
After a few years he married Verna Mae Keeton on September 28, 2001 in Bowling Green, Florida
They were living together in Hardee Manor Care Center when she passed away on October 26, 2010.

James was a member of Open Door Full Gospel Church Of Bowling Green, Florida .
He attended church there for many years.
He taught him self to play the electric guitar. He loved to play and sing.
All you had to do was ask. He played for anyone and everyone.
Daddy, loved the lord, and was proud to tell you all about his experiences with God's
healing power.

My daddy was a simple man, He never had nor wanted the riches of man.
He was rich in what mattered the most. God's Love!
Daddy loved the Lord his family and his music.
In many ways I think Daddy taught me to slow down,
see the world for the beauty in it not the material things.
The real beauty God's love as he created this world for all of us.
James D. Green went home to be with the Lord at 2:00 A.M. November 8, 2010.
We laid his body to rest November 10, 2010 in Wauchula Cemetery
beside his wife of ten years in block F Lot # 21
Tho you are gone from sight Daddy, you will never be gone from my heart.
We will always love and miss you.
Sing Loud and Proud Daddy you made it!
We will see you in the morning.
