Joseph Agrifolio, 78 InvernessJoseph V. Agrifolio, 78, Inverness, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 in Inverness. Born Dec. 6, 1925, in Newark, N.J., to Carmine and Beatrice Agrifolio, he came here in 1986 from Middletown, N.J. He served in the U.S. armed forces during World War II. He worked for Public Service Electric and Gas. He attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness. He was preceded in death by wife, Erleen Seeley Agrifolio on July 9, 1989 and sister, Christina Pickering. Surivors include three sons, Joseph D. Ryder of Long Lake, Minn., Joseph V. Agrifolio of Inverness, and Michael A. Agrifolio of Miami; two daughters, Vivki Lynn Galasso of Port St. Lucie and Joann Portella of Fairfield, N.J.; and sister, Charlotte Lamanna of Inverness. Born May 26, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Lee and Jane Brown, he came here in 1991 from Tampa. He was a police officer. He was a member of the Retired Police Association, Ohio, and Fraternal Order of Police. He was Protestant. Survivors include wife, Jean W. Merrill Brown of Inverness; three sons, John Brown of Tampa, Charles J. Brown of St. Petersburg, and David M. Brown of D'lberville, Miss.; two daughters, Kathy Savicki and Darlene Bedinghaus, both of Cincinnati, Ohio.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Hooper Funeral Home, Inverness. Born Nov. 23, 1917, in Charleston, S.C., to Harry and Esther Howard, she came here in 1990 from Charleston, S.C. She was a homemaker. She was Baptist. She was preceded in death by husband, James Catoe. Survivors include two daughters, Jeannette Fipps of Homosassa and Carolyn Eidem of Goose Creek, S.C.; stepson, Charles A. Julio 'Tony' Conejo, 55 Floral CityJulio Antonio "Tony" Conejo, 55, Floral City, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Born Sept. 22, 1948, in San Salvador to Charles and Martha (Bush) Conejo, he moved here last March from Miami. Mr. Conejo owned and operated a custom cabinet business. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and writing. He was Catholic. Survivors include wife of 30 years, Linda (Shaffer) Conejo; daughter, Tammy (Julio) Conejo Martin of Gainesville; and three sisters, Martha Davis of Shalimar, Madeline Johnson of Columbus, Ga., and Alice Ranghelli of Fort Lauderdale. Edith Gilmore, 83 LargoEdith Gilmore, 83, Largo, formerly of Inverness, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Palm Gardens of Largo Nursing Home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. Born Feb. 6, 1920, in Dickenson Center, N.Y., to Elmer and Lottie (Whitman) Beaney, she came to Inverness in 1982 from Jamestown, N.Y., before moving to Largo in 2002. She was a homemaker and member of Hernando Church of the Nazarene, where she served as Nursing Home Ministry director. She was preceded in death by husbands, A. Alan Gilmour in 1970, and Paul Gilmore Sr. in 1997; two brothers, Frank Beaney in 2002, Wendell Beaney in 2003 and grandson, Eric Johnson in 2000. Survivors include, son, Arthur (Carla) Gilmour Jr. of Camarillo, Calif.; two daughters, Linda (Eric) Johnson of Homosassa and Hope Rae Palmquist of Largo; two stepsons, Paul Gilmore Jr. of Mesa, Ariz., and Bruce Holland of Patent, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Owens of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Darlene Reilley of King of Prussia, Pa.; sister, Clara Grassie of Beamsville, Canada; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Alexina Kwasney, 82 InvernessAlexina Patricia Kwaasney, 82, Inverness, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at her home. Born Dec. 21, 1921, in Marionville, Canada, to Alexander and Elosie Murphy, shecame to Inverness in 1991 from St. Petersburg. She moved to St. Petersburg in 1981 from Massena, N.Y. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and formerly of Massena Golf and Country Club. She was preceded in death by daugther, Loraine in 1968 and husband, Benjamin in 2000. Survivors include two sons, Richard (Adrienne) Kwasney of Berea, Ohio, and Paul (Carol) Kwasney of Massena, N.Y.; sister, Aline Filliot of Cornwall, Canada; and three grandchildren. Mr. Roberts was a production supervisor for General Motors for 32 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and taught senior adult Bible study. He served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jean; daughters, Linda Sue Sprau of Fairhaven, Mich., Pegg Kaye Roberts of Detroit; sons, Richard Alan Roberts of Thompson Station, Tenn., Randall John Roberts of Red Lodge, Mont., Bryan James Hamel of Farmington, Minn., and Bruce Jon Hamel of Brunsville, Minn.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Born March 26, 1935, in Revere, Mass, to Thomas L. and Marietta Pearce, she came here in 2002 from Tewksburg, Mass. She was a cashier at Wal-Mart SuperCenter, Inverness. She was Catholic. She was preceded in death by husband, Anthony Russo in 1998. Survivors include two sons, Robert Shuflat of Inverness and Thomas W. Morgand of South Carolina; two daughters, Velma Morell of Crystal River, and Debra (Fairhurst) Eagles of Norwood, Mass.; two brothers, Wilson Pearce of Inverness, and Thomas Pearce of Winthrop, Mass.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Hooper Funeral Home, Inverness. Peggy Smith-Dubble, 82 InvernessPeggy A. (Brown) Smith-Dubble, 82, Inverness, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Born July 16, 1921, in Cheriki Providence, Panama, to James and Abbie Brown, she moved to Inverness in 1970 from Margurita Canal Zone, Panama. She was raised in the Panama Canal zone and graduated from Cristobal High School. She attended two years at Asbury College in Kentucky. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Inverness. She was a Grand Lion in the Inverness Lions Club, and a member of the Panama Canal Society of Florida. She married Roger Dubble in 1992. He died in 2000. She was preceded in death also by two brothers, Jim and Ted Brown. Survivors include two daughters, Marion (Tom) Morgan of Inverness, and Lonnie Montrose of Overland Park, Kan.; brother, Allen Brown of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Bruce Montrose, Vince Morgan, Jenny Jaenish and Anice Stephens; and three great-grandchildren. Heinze Funeral Home, Inverness. Richard L. Thawley, 78,Richard L. Thawley, of Gainesville, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004. A native of Alabama, he came to Gainesville in 1969. He was 78. Mr. Thawley was an assistant to the chief of staff at the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was founder of Living Faith Fellowship in Gainesville and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a second lieutenant during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Betty Tyree; daughters, Kathy Drake of Germany, Susan Stillwell of Fort Wayne, Ind.; son, Richard L. Jr. of Rockledge; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Irving William. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist of Ocala or Hospice of Marion County. Thomas, 61, Inverness, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at her home under the care of her husband and Hospice of Citrus County. Born Dec. 2, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Frank and Ernestine (Denton) Boyd, she moved to Inverness in 2000 from Upper Marlboro, Md. She was a registered nurse for Boston Public Health. She was a member of the Gulf to Lake Baptist Church, Crystal River, Citrus County Newcomers Club and she volunteered at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. Survivors include husband, Ernest " Ernie" Thomas of Inverness; son, Joey Thomas of San Diego, Calif.; and granddaughter, India Thomas of San Diego, Calif. Heinz Funeral Home, Inverness. Michael Timerman, 45 HernandoMichael James Timerman, 45, Hernando, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Born Nov. 28, 1958, in Morocco, to Roy and Helen (Glaub) Timerman, he moved to Hernando in 2000 from Bossier, La. He was a mechanic for Cummings Inc., Ocala. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include wife, Sherral L. Timerman of Hernando; parents, Roy and Helen Timerman of Oceanside, Calif.; four brothers, John Timeran of Riverside, Calif., Roy Timerman of Vista, Calif., Tony Timerman of Wisconsin, and Mark Timerman of Mammoth Lake, Calif.; and in-laws, Ron and Jill Kaufman of Hernando.
