Kathryn 'Kassie' Coltman, 76 Homosassa

Kathryn Marie "Kassie" Coltman, 76, Homosassa, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River.

She was born Aug. 10, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Marie Nerad.

She moved to the area 26 years ago from St. Petersburg.

She was an office manager and business partner of Ronnie's Academy of Dance, Crystal River.

She was an honorary life member of Florida Dance Masters.

Survivors include her two adopted daughters, Ronnie Duurloo Bogart and her husband, Ryan, of Homosassa and Debra Hilliard and her husband, Kevin, of Ocala; and one grandson.

Frank Michel, 98 Inverness

Frank J. Michel, 98, Inverness, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at his home.

He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on June 16, 1905, to George and Louise (Effinger) Michel. He came to the area 31 years ago from Hempstead, Long Island, N.Y.

He retired after 20 years as a district manager with the America Mutual Life Insurance Co.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish of Inverness.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Catherine "Kay" (Hartling) Michel; son, Francis J. Michel of Australia; sister, Louise Michel of Yonkers, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

Ida Peracchio, 90 Beverly Hills

Ida A. Peracchio, 90, Beverly Hills, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, in Beverly Hills.

She was born Feb. 26, 1913, in Italy to Battista and Virginia Longo Peracchio.

She was a Unitarian Universalist.

A brother, Anthony Peracchio, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two brothers, Arthur Peracchio of Beverly Hills and Sergio Peracchio of Grosse Pointe, Mich.

Joseph Petrone, 76 Ocala

Joseph Francis Petrone, 76, Ocala, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, in Crystal River.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He moved to Ocala a year ago from Toms River, N.J.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a retired New York City police officer.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Frank Petrone of Cantereach, N.Y., and a sister, Dorothy H. Wyspianski of Dunnellon.

William Reinhard, 82 Beverly Hills

William R. Reinhard, 82, Beverly Hills, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, in Crystal River.

He was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Meridan, Conn., to William and Olive Andrews Reinhard.

He moved to the area in 1987 from Waterford, Conn.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a carpenter.

He was a member of American Legion Post 155 in Crystal River, Amvets of Lake Panasoffkee, the Beverly Hills Civic Association and the Beverly Hills Fishing Club. He bowled weekly at Manatee Lanes. He was Protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian T. Harrington Reinhard of Beverly Hills; son, Russell R. Reinhard of Winter Park; daughter, Elaine R. Theriault of South Portland, Maine; three stepsons, Louis A. Fluet of Mercer, Maine, Richard W. Fluet of Gales Ferry, Conn., and David B. Fluet of Stacyville, Maine; three stepdaughters, Jeannine Tarr of Oakfield, Maine, Brenda C. Fluet of Staten Island, N.Y., and Mary Lou Blackman of Lisbon, Conn.; brother, Edward C. Reinhard of Southington, Conn.; sister Louise O. Loucks-Higgins of Southington, Conn.; and two grandchildren.

Leonard Savage Jr., 59 Lecanto

Leonard H. Savage Jr., 59, Lecanto, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center, Crystal River.

He was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Jersey City, N.J., to Leonard H. Savage Sr. and Loretta Savage. He moved to the area 12 years ago from Pine Beach, N.J.

He was a retired foreman from Toms River Water Co., Toms River, N.J.

He was a former Scout Master of Troop No. 14 of Beachwood, N.J.

He was a member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church of Lecanto.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Mary E. (Taylor) Savage of Lecanto; three sons, Peter Savage and Phillip Savage, both of Statesville, N.C., and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Stanley Savage and his wife, Kelley, who are based in Korea; daughter, Linda A. Savage of Inverness; mother, Loretta Savage of Statesville, N.C; brother, Michael Savage of Statesville, N.C.; sister, Theresa Richter of Land O Lakes; an uncle; and one grandchild.

Joseph Buckley, 79 Clearwater

Joseph Francis Buckley, 79, Clearwater, formerly of Beverly Hills, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, in Clearwater.

Born April 21, 1924, in Brockton, Mass., to Daniel Francis and Alice (Boudreau) Buckley, he came here from St. Petersburg and lived in Beverly Hills several years before moving to Clearwater in 2002.

Mr. Buckley was office manager for Neighborly Senior Services of Clearwater; and was a funeral home associate with Fero Funeral Home of Beverly Hills.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served from 1941 to December 1945, in the South Pacific and received commendations for service in Tarawa and Okinawa.

He was a former member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills, member of Knights of Columbus Abbot Francis Sadlier Council No. 6168, Beverly Hills, Color Corps member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Francis Cardinal Spellman Assembly No. 1547, was a past grand knight of Knights of Columbus of St. Petersburg and a eucharistic minister.

He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, president of Mission Hills Bowling League, member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Beverly Hills Fishing Club, and was a bingo caller for various clubs.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Theresa Buckley of Clearwater; son, Daniel Buckley of Bridgewater, Mass.; daughter, Patricia Driscoll of Clearwater; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Engels, 78 Bushnell

Elizabeth L. Engels, 78, Bushnell, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, in Leesburg.

A native of New York, born in Hillburn, she lived many years in Inverness and was presently a resident of Bushnell.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Philip Bronga of New York and Francis Bronga of Nevada; one daughter, Mary Harrod of Bushnell; a brother, George Jenkins of New York; a sister, Esther Zembryskie of Inverness; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

David Greenwell, 66 Inverness

David Greenwell, 66, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at his home in Inverness.

He was born March 29, 1937, in Bardstown, Ky., to Desmond and Margaret (Smith) Greenwell. He lived in Chicago, Ill., from the age of 14 through 40 and relocated to Tampa in 1978, and was the owner of Elite Painting and Decorating Inc.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Greenwell of Tampa; stepdaughters, Heather Cobb (Phillip), Dawn Cooke (Henry) and stepson, Tracy Getman; five step grandchildren; and his in-laws, Robert and Dottie Purdum; previous wife and longtime friend, Rose Kilgus (Glenn); three children, Anita Beinor (Peter Paul), Donald, and David Jr. (Laura); seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was one of nine children and preceded in death by Gloria and Claude. Surviving siblings are Jim, Jerry, Pat, Joyce, Gregory and April

Ruth Larson, 88 Lecanto

Ruth K. Larson, 88, Lecanto, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River.

Born Aug. 22, 1915, in Arcadia to William A. and Ruth (Bishop) Larson, she moved here 24 years ago from Fort Lauderdale.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Chassahowitzka Christian Church.

Surviving are her son, Victor C.A. Larson and wife, Sherry, of Crystal River; daughter, Jodie Moore and husband, Paul, of Lecanto; grandson, Victor C. Larson Jr. and three great-grandchildren.

Philip MacLaren Sr., 75 Beverly Hills

Philip Arthur MacLaren Sr., 75, Beverly Hills, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, in Beverly Hills.
Born Oct. 17, 1928 in Tewksbury, Mass., to George and Myrtle MacLaren, he moved here in 1990 from Waterbury, Vt.

Mr. MacLaren was a corrections officer for the State of Massachusetts.

He was Seventh-day Adventist and was a member of Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include one son, Philip A. MacLaren Jr. of Epsom, N.H.; two daughters, Gloria Clinton of Holliston, Mass., and Cynthia Weaver of Downington, Pa.; one brother, Donald MacLaren of Massachusetts; four sisters, Priscilla Blumenstock of Idaho, Willa Wolcott of Massachusetts, Pauline McClendon of Alabama and Beverly Beckwith of Massachusetts; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at a later date in Tewksbury, Mass.

Samuel Palmer, 72 Homosassa

Samuel Terrill Palmer, 72, Homosassa, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004 in Crystal River.

Born Oct. 13, 1931, in Northport, Ala., to John Curry and Gladys Palmer, he moved here from Orlando in 1996.

He received his bachelor of science degree from Rollins University, Winter Park.

Mr. Palmer was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a technician for Martin-Marietta Corp.

He was a member of Community Church of the Brethren, Orlando.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Fyrl Joy Young Palmer of Homosassa; two daughters, Terri Lynn Soulard (Stephen) and Gail Louise Byrd (Robert Dale) both of Orlando; a sister, Joy Spiller of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and four grandchildren.

George 'Bob' Williams, 63 Dunnellon

George Robert "Bob" Williams, 63, Dunnellon, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Gainesville.

A native of Pennington Gap, Va., he moved to Dunnellon in 1993 from Bokella and was the owner of G. Robert Williams Marine Repair in Dunnellon.

He was Baptist and was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1958 to 1962.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a son, Mark Wagner Hart, July 23, 1998.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Kathleen A. Williams of Dunnellon; four sons, Jim Daniel Hart of Jacksonville, N.C., Robert Franklin Hart of Dunnellon, Richard Lee Williams of Bradenton and Robert Scott Williams of Bonita; one daughter, Becky Schenck of Punta Gorda; cousin, Edmond Osborn of Jacksonville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
