Perry, Catherine

Mrs. Catherine Perry, one of the real pioneers of Sheridan county, passed away Tuesday night at the home of her son, W. C. Perry, 337 Carlin street. Funeral services were held yesterday at Big Horn by Rev. Ira Kingsley, and Mrs. Perry was laid to rest in the Big Horn cemetery, by the side of her husband who preceded her into the great beyond twenty-one years ago. Deceased came to Sheridan county thirty-two years ago, traveling overland with wagon and team from Kansas, in company with her husband and two sons. The family suffered many hardships en route. Delighted with the Sheridan country after their hard journey, the travelers settled permanently on a ranch near Big Horn and remained there for several years. Mrs. Perry is survived by her son who lives in Sheridan, and by two brothers and a sister living in the east.

PIONEER RESIDENT OF BIG HORN DIES HERE FRIDAY
Mrs. Mary Eads Perry, 82, pioneer resident of Big Horn, died Friday in a Sheridan hospital where she had been a patient 18 days. Born at Albia, Ia., on March 2, 1868 and was the last surviving member of a family of nine children. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and of the First Methodist church. Her husband, William, whom she married in Sheridan in 1801, died 18 years ago. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eugene Burris of Sheridan and Mrs. Lytha Malcolm of Oregon; one son, Ralph D. Perry of Buffalo, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services have tentatively been arranged for Wednesday at 2 p.m. in champions.

Word was received here today of the death of W. C. Perry, age 74, formerly of Sheridan, at Troutdale, Ore. Mr. Perry had lived in Sheridan for 49 years and made his home at 460 Park street until he went to live with his daughter, Mrs. Roy Malcom at Troutdale a year and a half ago. In addition to Mrs. Malcom he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Perry; a son, Ralph D. Perry of Buffalo; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Barnes of Sheridan, and six grandchildren. Another son, Delmar Perry died several years ago. Mr. Perry was a member of the M. W. A. and the Methodist church. The body will arrive Thursday, and the funeral will be held Friday at 2 o'clock in the Champion drawing room.
