Garland, Clora  Blaney "Granny"

BUFFALO — Former Big Horn resident Clora “Granny” Garland, 81, of Buffalo died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, and 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Elder John Graham officiating. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery.

rs. Garland was born March 28, 1919, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Oliver and Mattie Blaney. The family moved to Midwest when she was a small child. When she was 7 years old, the family moved to Big Horn where she finished her schooling and graduated from Big Horn High School. After high school, she cooked and was kitchen help for the Gallatin Ranch in Big Horn. She married Walter Garland April 12, 1940, in Sheridan. The couple made their home in Buffalo where Mrs. Garland worked for the Idelwild Cafe for several years. She later worked for Husky Cafe, and she and Mr. Garland were caretakers at the Crippled Children’s Camp west of Buffalo for 15 years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister. She is survived by her husband, of Buffalo; four sons, Matt and Gary both of Gillette, Ray of Buffalo and Roger of Missoula, Mont.; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Garland’s name to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in care of Adams Funeral Home.
