Research Exchange

The WYGenWeb Research Exchange is a way for researchers to exchange research time between locations. If you are able to volunteer to do research in the area where you live in exchange for research done in Wyoming, you may participate. Research requestors may reside in Wyoming, any state in the United States or in any other country, world-wide.

If you agree to participate, you may ask for reimbursement for your expenses, such as copying and postage, but please do not ask for a fee beyond expenses.

When requesting research from someone, do not expect someone to do your research for you. Your requests should be limited to specific questions such as checking the index for one or two names, or obtaining an obituary from a specific date.

BE SURE TO READ THIS BEFORE YOU PARTICIPATE: Although I am providing this service as another tool for Wyoming researchers, participants MUST understand that neither the WYGenWeb, USGenWeb nor I are not responsible for any agreement you might make with another researcher, nor are the WYGenWeb, USGenWeb and I responsible for any activity/inactivity on behalf of the participating individuals. These researchers do not have any contract affiliation with the WYGenWeb, USGenWeb or this Web site. The WYGenWeb, USGenWeb and I are not responsible for anyone's work. Participating researchers must work out any arrangements, agreement, or disagreements between themselves. This is a voluntary program based on the honor system.

If you have a complaint about any researcher, please contact me immediately and state the problem.

Check the state listing where you would like to have research done and see if anyone needs research done in your area of residence. To contact a research exchange requestor, click on the hyperlinked name to send an email to that individual expressing your interest in sharing research time.

As requests are made, the state from which research is needed will be emboldened.
