I have some photos I would like to submit, what do I do now?

Just follow these guidelines:

  • Scan your pictures, but please DO NOT COMPRESS THEM.  I will resize everything at this end.
  • Save and send them as a .gif or .jpg format.
  • Include any information which will help identify the picture.  (Photographer’s name and location, identity of photo subject, etc.) Please try to identify the county for me.   In the absence of a county please describe the connection the photo has to Wyoming.
  • Send your photo as an e-mail attachment.
  • Put Wyoming ORPHAN PHOTO in the subject line.
  • Send only one photo at a time.
  • If you would like to submit multiple photos, please email me first.
  • Allow up to two weeks for posting.

What if I don't own a scanner? If you don't own a scanner contact me and we'll make arrangements to get your photos posted, even if you have to snail mail copies of them to me.

How do I submit an adoptable family treasure? Email me with a complete description of the item, where it was found and under what circumstances, writing on the back, name of the photographer, place and year taken if known, anything that might provide clues, etc.  Be sure to include your name and email address. If you can send a scanned picture, please do so.

How do I submit an unidentified family treasure? Email me with a complete description of the item and attach a scanned image. Put UNIDENTIFIED TREASURE in the subject line.

What about the adoption fee?

Your name and email address will be posted with the photos you submit.  If someone would like to adopt a picture or an item you have posted, they are to contact you directly about the adoption fee.

Adoption fees will include the price paid for the item plus postage to send it.

If you don't own a scanner and had to make a photocopy to get to get the image posted include this and the postage costs in the adoption fee.

After an item has been claimed PLEASE let me know as soon as possible.  Thank You!
