Crook County Was Established

Crook County is a county in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Wyoming. As of the 2020 census, 7,181 people lived there, which makes it the third-least populous county in Wyoming. Its county seat is Sundance. It was formed on December 8, 1875. Crook County was formed in 1875 from Albany and Laramie Counties, although it wasn't organized until 1888. It was named for Brigdier General George Crook, a commander in the Indian Wars. In 1890, Crook County was split to form Weston County and in 1911, it was split again to form Campbell County.

It really doesn't take that much of your time and it will help others and also help you in your research. The one advantage that these counties have as opposed to the larger websites is that they are FREE and many times they contain information that the larger websites don't have. Think about it become a member of the USGenWeb®. You'll be glad you did!
