Emil H. Keller, the popular merchant tailor of Sheboygan, was born in Ozaukee, County, Wis., November 16, 1863. His parents, Charles and Emma Keller, who were early, settlers of this county, are represented elsewhere in this volume. Until fourteen years of age his time was divided between attendance at the district schools and in assisting in his father's store, he beginning in the latter at the age of eight years.

When fourteen years old, Mr. Keller went to Milwaukee and accepted the position of book-keeper for Baum, Fisher & Co., remaining seven years. On September 14, 1885, he opened an exclusively tailoring establishment in Sheboygan, being the only one in the city. The business is transacted under the firm name of The American Tailors, and the best of work is turned out at satisfactory prices. During the busy season employment is given to about twenty men.

Prior to leaving Milwaukee, Mr. Keller was married, October 6, 1887, to Miss Julia A. Simon, who is a native of the Cream City. Mr. Keller is a gentleman of a genial and courteous disposition, and by the display of these qualities and business tact he has worked up an extensive and prosperous business.
