Herman Heinecke, proprietor of a meat market at No. 805 Indiana Avenue, established business here in the fall of 1884. He is a native of Sheboygan, born November 14, 1861. His parents, Gustav and Wilhelmina (Weise) Heinecke, are natives of Germany. The father was born July 7, 1830, in Saxony, and emigrated to America when twenty-two years of age. He spent two years in Cleveland, Ohio, and came to Sheboygan in 1854. His marriage occurred after coming here. He began farming, but, subsequently kept a general store in Sheboygan for fourteen years. In 1885 he removed with his family to Marquette, Mich., where they still reside.

Herman was reared and educated in his native city. He learned the painter's trade in Sheboygan Falls, beginning in 1880, and traveled in Illinois, Iowa and Michigan, working at his trade. He was at Hancock, Mich., in 1884, and that year returned to Sheboygan, and engaged in his present business.

Mr. Heinecke was married in Sheboygan, January 23, 1884, to Miss Augusta Kaufmann. Mrs. Heinecke was born in this city, and is the daughter of Frederick and Augusta Kaufmann. Her parents were born in Germany, and came to the United States in 1857, coming direct to Sheboygan. The mother is deceased, but the father still resides in Sheboygan.

Mr. and Mrs. Heinecke have three children living, and have lost one. They are named below in order of birth: Ernest; Otto; Gustav, who died at the age of three years; and Walter. The parents are members of the Lutheran Church. In politics, Mr. Heinecke is a Republican.
