Calvin William Jones, proprietor of the livery, sale and boarding stable and 'bus line at Sheboygan Falls, also acts as ticket agent for the Milwaukee & Lake Shore Railroad Company at the Falls. He runs a 'bus daily to Weeden Station, making connection with four trains, the distance between the Falls and the station being three and a-half miles.

Mr. Jones was born in New Sharon, Somerset County, Me., March 26, 1858, and is a son of Calvin and Mary Jones. He first came to Wisconsin with his parents when a child, in 1859. The family spent four years near Five Corners, in the town of Lima, Sheboygan County, and then returned to Maine. Mr. Jones' father was engaged in keeping hotel, milling and merchandising in Maine, and Calvin W., after completing his schooling, was employed in assisting him in his various undertakings. In 1877 he went to Saginaw, Mich., and the same year came to Sheboygan Falls.

On October 16, 1879, Mr. Jones was united in marriage with Miss Ella Dye, a daughter of "Deacon" A. G. Dye, an early pioneer of Sheboygan County, of whom find a record on another page of this volume. Mrs. Jones was born in the town of Lima, Sheboygan County.

At the time of his marriage, Mr. Jones engaged in farming in the town of Lima, which occupation he pursued for a period of ten years. In 1891 he engaged in his present business. He has a large and well-stocked establishment, having good horses, a full line of single and double carriages, and a hearse. He is thus fully equipped for business or pleasure driving, or for funerals. His is the only livery stable in the town, and he enjoys a good trade.

Mr. Jones is a Republican in politics, and, socially, is a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, Falls Camp No. 1073, of Sheboygan Falls. His wife is a member of the Baptist Church, under the auspices of which she was reared.
