Charles P. Reich is one of the scions of the sterling German pioneer, Carl Reich. He is engaged in farming on section 9, Wilson Township, and is numbered among the representative farmers of the locality in which he makes his home. He was born in Germany, December 13, 1849, and is a son of Carl and Caroline (Fritz) Reich. When only two years of age, our subject was brought by his parents to America, and was reared to mature years in Sheboygan County and on the shores of Lake Superior. He is a man of good education, being versed in both the English and German languages. He remained with his parents until he had reached his thirty-third year, having been for eleven years a resident of Lima Township.

The marriage of Mr. Reich and Miss Maggie Ries was celebrated April 18, 1882. The lady was born October 12, 1856, and is a daughter of Peter Ries, of the city of Sheboygan. She is a lady of refinement and culture, and by her marriage has become the mother of two bright children, a son and a daughter: Hugo, now a lad of eight years, and Clara, two years old.

Having been reared to agricultural pursuits, Mr. Reich has made that his main business in life, and is a practical farmer. He also learned the business of manufacturing cheese, which occupation he followed more or less for seven years with profit. His farm comprises ninety-nine acres of finely improved land, and his beautiful home is a large brick residence, pleasantly situated only a mile and a-half south of the city limits of Sheboygan. He is justly classed among the leading farmers of the township, and is a worthy citizen. He and his wife are members of the Catholic Church of Sheboygan, of which Father Van Treeck is pastor. Both have the respect of all who know them, and their friends in the community are many.
