Charles D. Eastman, a prosperous young farmer of the town of Plymouth, is a son of Enos Eastman, one of the pioneers of that township, whose biography is given on another page. Mr. Eastman, Jr. was born May 24, 1861, in the town of Plymouth, which has been his home ever since. On his father's farm he grew to manhood, learning those lessons of industry and thrift that have proved more valuable than a large inheritance. His mental training, however, was not neglected, as in the High School of Plymouth, and in the Spencerian Business College of Milwaukee, he acquired such an education as would serve him best in his chosen calling. Having completed his course of study, he returned to the farm.

September 24, 1885, Mr. Eastman was married to Miss Amy, daughter of Clarke R. and Permelia A. (Peck) Mead, of whom see sketch elsewhere in this work. Mrs. Eastman is a native of Lyndon Township, this county. The young couple have two children, Miriam E. and Marjorie M.

Upon marriage Mr. Eastman located on his father's old homestead, where he has since carried on hog-raising and dairy-farming, keeping from twenty to twenty-three cows. He is a hard worker, a good manager and a rising young man. In his political views, he is a Democrat, but has never had any political aspirations. Socially, he is a member of the Royal Arcanum.
