Frank L. Bessinger, proprietor of the livery, feed and sale stable, and of the Hubert Bessinger 'Bus Line, is successor to his father. This business was established by the father in 1873. Frank L. was manager for eight years for his father, and succeeded to the business May 5, 1886.

The subject of this sketch is a native of Sheboygan, born August 29, 1862, and is a son of Hubert C. and Barbara (Lauer) Bessinger. He attended school in his native city, afterward taking a course of study at Spencer's Business College of Milwaukee. On returning from college, he assisted his father in the livery and 'bus business until 1886, when he bought him out, and has since conducted the business alone.

Mr. Bessinger was married in Sheboygan, November 7, 1889, to Miss Martha Gunnerson, a daughter of Capt. Gunnerson, deceased. Mrs. Bessinger was born in Sheboygan, where her parents were early settlers. She is a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Mr. and Mrs. Bessinger have one child, a daughter, Sarah, born August 23, 1890.

Mr. Bessinger has a funeral car and a child's white hearse, and keeps a full line of carriages for funeral purposes. He keeps twenty-four horses, and a fine lot of double and single rigs for business and pleasure. In 1888 he was awarded the gold medal by the Livery Association of Wisconsin for having the best stocked livery in the State. And it should be added that none are more neatly kept. In addition to his other business, he buys and sells horses, fills orders and ships in large numbers.
