Frederick William Reineking

Source: "Portrait and Biographical Record - Published 1894 by Excelsior Publishing Co., Chicago" Pages 253 - 254

Frederick William Reineking is a well-known educator of Sheboygan County, having been engaged in the profession of teaching for eighteen years. He was born on the farm where he now lives, September 4, 1852, being a son of Frederick and Mary Reineking. In early life his time was passed between farm labor and attendance at the district school. For two years thereafter he pursued a higher course of instruction in the Mission House of his native town, and during the school year of 1871 and 1872 was a student at the Wisconsin State University. Returning to the farm, he was engaged in agriculture during the summer season, while in the winter time he was employed as a teacher. For thirteen terms of eight months each, he was employed to teach the school in his home district, a record perhaps not excelled anywhere in the State. In the same position he might still have continued, but, his farming interest demanding his entire attention, he gave up teaching.

Mr. Reineking and Miss Mary, daughter of C. F. Arpke, were married in the town of Herman October 20, 1876, and unto them have been born seven children, whose names are given in order of birth: Lorenz F., Calvin F., Richard F., Delia M., Roland F., Esther M. and Elsa M. For sketch of Mrs. Reineking's father, see another page of this volume.

In his political faith, Mr. Reineking is a Republican, though he has no official aspirations. He has served his town as Justice of the Peace for some eight years. Himself and wife are active and valued members of the German Reformed Church. Since 1890 Mr. Reineking has devoted himself to farming. He is a young man of exceptional business qualifications, and of intellectual attainments - in every sense a representative man.
