William B. and Wilson P. HERNING (Also spelled HURNING; ERNNING and ERNING on FED census.) were Civil War veterans and brothers who resided in Maple Valley before 1900. They came from a big family; parents were Isaac and Rebecca Worden HERNING. The family resided in Alexandria, Jefferson Co. NY in 1850, before they moved to WI. Isaac's father was Adam HORNING.
