Oconto Falls—Miss Beatrice Ohswaldt, R.N., who spent last week at the Dr. H.T. Ohswaldt and Frank Ohswaldt homes, left for Cleveland, Ohio, where she has a nursing position at the Marine hospital.  Since graduating from the local high school with the class of 1934, Beatrice has graduated from Milwaukee County Hospital, Wauwatosa, and was a member of the nursing staff at Columbia hospital, Milwaukee, for a year and a half.  Beatrice no only enjoys her profession, she wholesomely enjoys life, and she has many friends in her home town who are wishing her continued success and happiness in her chosen work.

Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Hertwig, resident of this city for the
past 34 years, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary
Sunday with an open house all day, and dinner and supper for
many guests.

The Hertwigs were married in Green By by Justice of the Peace
Killian on August 4, 1890.  Both were born in Green Bay, Mr.
Hertwig on September 20, 1862, and Mrs. Hertwig on October 29,
1871.  After they were married they moved to a farm in the
town of Spruce where they lived until 1966 at which time they
came to this city were up to the time he retired a few years
ago, Mr. Hertwig operated a tavern.  His son, Leonard, now is
proprietor of the tavern.  Other children are another son,
Raymond, and a daughter, Mrs. Edward Bigelow, both of Oconto
Falls.

The relatives from Green Bay who attended the anniversary were
Mrs. Philip Georgria who was Mrs. Hertwig’s bridesmaid 50
years ago, Mrs. Fred Georgia, Mrs. Joseph Pigeon, Mrs. Henry
Roucher, Mr. and Mrs. Garna Numan, Lullet Erdmann, Mr. and
Mrs. Antone Erdmann, Sr and Antone Erdmann Jr., Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Lade and children, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Burnette and
children, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Graling, and Mrs. Louise
Krischer.

From Suamico were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Farrell, Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph DeWitt and children, Mrs. Otto Marks,  Mr. and Mrs. C.
Marks, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. C. Marks, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis
DeWitt.

                        Celebrate 55th Anniversary 

GILLETT, Wis. – Mr. and Mrs. Michael Weix, above, residents of
this village, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary here
Sunday.

Mrs. Weix, the former Johanna Reinal, was born in
Kelnersville, May 16, 1865.  Mr. Weix was born in the town of
Center, near Appleton, Aug. 4, 1860.  They were married Sept.
29, 1885 in St. John’s Catholic church, Antigo, and came to
Gillett from Antigo with their son, the Rev. George Weix in
1930, who was then made pastor of St.  John’s Catholic church
here.

Those present at the 1 o’clock dinner at the Weix home were,
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weix and son Billy, Two Rivers, Mrs. John
Weix and daughter Ruth Mary, Catherine (?)votny;  Mr. and Mrs.
J. Weix, all of Antigo; and the Reverend Gabriel Gamasch, De
Pere, and Ed Ocweijie, Green Bay.

Mr. and Mrs. Weix were recipients of many gifts, including
flowers and a large decorated wedding cake.  Both are in good
health.
