SEVENTEEN ACCEPTED FOR COUNTY DRAFT
Exemption Board Held Important Meeting in County Clerk's Office
STOELTING TO RE-EXAMINE

The Oconto county esemption board net in County Clerk Hunter C. Orr's
office yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, and examined thirty-two Oconto county
men between the ages of 21 and 31 years, for the draft of sixteen fron
the county. The board was composed of the following named gentlemen:

Died Monday
Mrs. Herman Wegner Passes Away at her Home on Third Street
Mrs. Herman Wegner, after being a patient sufferer with gangrene
for the
past two years, died at her home on Third Street at 8:30 on Monday.
Deceased was born in Kiempnow, Pommern, Germany, March 21, 1871.
She
came to the United States in 1891. She is survived by her husband
and
one son, an aged mother, Mrs. William Roewe, two sisters, Mrs. August
Drafz of Oconto and Mrs. Louis Roseman of Pound, and one brother,
Gust
Roewe of this city.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon in the Presbyterian Church.

Married Christmas
Miss Verna Wright to Henry M. Chase of Wabeno
Miss Verna Wright, daughter of Mrs. Addie Wright, was married Christmas
morning at 10:00 to Mr. Henry M. Chase of Wabeno. Rev. E. W. Wright
of
the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
The happy young couple left on the evening train for a wedding trip
to
Chicago. They will make their home in Oconto.
Adjudged Insane
Louis Barths Reexamined Thursday and Adjudged Insane
Louis Barths of Clintonville, who for the past month has been living
in
an unheated tent in the woods near Lakewood, was brought before
Judge
Jones Thursday afternoon for reexamination as to sanity. He was
adjudged
insane and taken to the Northern hospital at Winnebago.
