January 7, 1915 A surprise party was given in honor of Miss Agnes Johnson by the Misses Dora and Dorothy Peterson at the formers home on Third Street New Years Eve. A number of young folks of the city drove out to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ziemer at Cream City Sunday where an enjoyable time was had and a bountiful dinner and supper was served. Mrs. Ziemer entertained in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Martin of Seattle, Wash., who are visiting at the home of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Kurth. Ed. Rabe, the new sheriff, moved into the jail last Saturday and Albert Rusch and family moved their home which has been much improved. Lena—A large number of friends gathered at the home of Tony Lindorf about two miles from Lena Tuesday and enjoyed a dance, Mr. Lindorfs son being married that day. Lena—Henry Netzer now has his store and J.F. Rose’s rooms heated with steam which makes it very comfortable. Suring—Several of Blanche Stackpole’s friends spent
Wednesday evening at her home in honor of her eighteenth birthday anniversary.

June 3, 1915 Orville, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mlnarik,
narrowly escaped drowning Monday. He was playing on the logs and
fell in. Charles Norton, who happened to be passing, helped him out.

July 8, 1915 John VanBoven of Mentone, California is visiting his mother, Mrs. Anna VanBoven of this city. This is his first home visit in eight years. The first year he spent in Washington and the last seven in California. Lena—A new concrete platform is now in the course of construction which will run from the main street of the town to the depot. This will be an additional improvement in the village and convenience of the traveling public. A logrolling contest was held at DePere Monday between two Oconto boys, Robert Desjarlais and James Kain, and two Menominee Indians, the Oconto boys winning out. Richard Cullen Left Wednesday for Believille, Ont.,
to spend a few weeks at his old home with his brother and two sisters.
This is his first visit home in thirteen years.

July 29, 1915 researched by Richard LaBrosse Miss Helen Leavitt entertained about forty couples at a lawn fete Monday evening at her home. Lena—H.J. Wenzel opened a meat market Tuesday, just south of L. Valley’s store. Mr. Wenzel has installed new fixtures and is in a position to promptly and efficiently serve his customers. The Royal Neighbor picnic at Oconto Falls last Thursday
was a very successful and delightful event. Mrs. Clara Merrill, the
guest of honor, was elected president of the picnic committee and the committee
decided to hold the next annual picnic at Oconto.
