Zilda M. VanLanen, 86, formerly of Abrams, died Friday, July 28, 2000 at the Riverside Health and Rehab Center, Oconto.

The former Zilda M. LaCount was born July 19, 1914 in Green Bay to the late Abe and Julia (Smits) LaCount. She married John Hock, Jr. on November 26, 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1942. She then married Albert VanLanen on October 30, 1948 and lie preceded her in death in 1998. Zilda worked as a cook for over twenty years at the Oneida Golf and Riding Club and then later at K-Mart. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church of Abrams. Zilda will be remembered as a great cook and she loved to spend time with her grand and greatgrandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly and Richard Delfosse, Abrams; one son, Donald and Mary Jane Hock, Branch; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one stepson, Alvin and Ruth VanLanen, Seymour; 11 stepgrandchildren; one sister, Julia (Paul) Hill, Green Bay; one brother, Herbert (Violet) LaCount, Howard; and a special stepdaughter-in-law, Percy and Fred Knaub, Lakewood.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John and Albert; mother and father; two sisters and one brother.

The family received friends at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home West, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Howard, on Sunday, July 30, 2000 from 3 to 6 p.m. Funeral service was 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Fr. Gerald Prusakowski, OFM, officiating. Burial in St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery, Howard. Andrew J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director.
