Oconto Falls-Yarwood Matravers, 92, Oconto Falls, died Friday morning in the Oconto Hospital. Born January 27, 1870, in Couillardville, he married the former Lillian Temple in June 1895 in Oconto Falls, and farmed for many years. In 1912, he took up residence in Oconto Falls where he was fieldsman for the Falls Canning Factory, and also served as supervisor of the First Ward of Oconto Falls. His wife died in 1936.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Angus, Oconto Falls; two sons, Leroy, LaGrange, Ill.; Elwin, Oconto Falls; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Friends may call at John Crooks Funeral Home, Oconto, From Sunday morning until 9:30 am Monday, then at the Methodist Church, Oconto Falls, where funeral services will be held at 2 pm. With the Rev. Cecil Dawson officiating. Burial will be in the Volk Cemetery, Oconto Falls.

Note: Died June 8, 1962.  Actual name Hugh Yarwood Matravers, son of John and Mathilda Clark Matravers.  Known as Yarwood and named after Rev. Hugh Yarwood a Methodist Minister who immigrated from England, according to the obit of Basil Yarwood.

His wife died 02/28/1936 she was the daughter of George W. and Maria Volk Temple.
