Xavier Barribeau, 81, of 180 E. Huron St. died Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital in Madison. He had been ill for about three months.

 He was born Dec. 30, 1896, in Oconto, the son of George and Fanny Barribeau. He married Elsie Kahr in 1920 in Oconto. She preceded him in death Jan. 14, 1953. He then married Mary Kurek Formiller on July 12, 1958 at Holy Hill.

 Mr Barribeau had been a foreman at A.O. Smith Co. in Milwukee for 20 years. He retired and moved to Berlin in 1960. Mr. Barribeau served in the armed services during World War I.

 Surviving are his widow, one son, Ronald, Monroe: one brother, Francis, Milwaukee; two sisters, Belle Pecor, Oconto and Vi MacLeod, Appleton, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; 10 step grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.

 Services will be held at 10 an Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Berlin, the Rev. Floyd S. Lewandowski officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Oconto.

 Friends maycall at Wiecki Funeraql Home, Berlin, today from 4 to 9 pm where the rosary will be said at 8:30pm.
