Oconto Falls, Wis. – William Sly, 68, of Oconto Falls, died in the hospital here at 11 o'clock this morning. He was suffering from a chronic illness, with a heart attack the immediate cause of death.

Born in Shawano July 4, 1880, he came to Oconto Falls about 37 years ago. His wife the former Maria Barrett, whom he married in 1912, died in October 1946. A son, James died in 1920. A brother, Fred Bergelin, Denmark, survives, along with several nieces and nephews.

The body will remain at O'Neil Funeral home. Rites will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning in St. Anthony Catholic church with the rev. Fransis Francart officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
