Mr. Walter F. Schroeder, 78, of 220 South Franklin Street, Oconto Falls, passed away Saturday, July 24, 1999, at Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.
The son of the late William and Anna (Noffke) Schroeder was born December 11, 1920 in Germany. He came to the United States at an early age and lived in Chicago for a number of years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He farmed in the Town of Oconto Falls until 1996 when he moved to town. He was a member of St. John Riverside Lutheran Church and Oconto County DAV.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Bill "Hans" Heinz, Town of Oconto Falls; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Schroeder, Downers Grove, IL, one niece, Karyle Heinz, Town of Oconto Falls; two nephews, Bill (Sandy) Schroeder, Lombard, IL, and Rich (Julie) Schroeder, Newark, IL.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Heinz, and one brother, Elmer Schroeder.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at St. John Riverside Lutheran Church. Funeral service was held at 11:00 with the Rev. John Lattsch officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
