(William Henry Quirt - b. 06/06/1870 Quebec Canada d. 09/07/1936 Oconto, WI AKA: Harry)
Harry Quirt, 57, resident of the town of Little River most of his life, was instantly killed in an accident at Blissfield, Mich., Monday night about 9:30, when he was struck by a car while walking along a highway. Funeral services are being conducted from the home of his brother, Sheriff Charles Quirt [IT:(note II):IT] at two o'clock this afternoon.
Mr. Quirt spent most of his life in Oconto county and for 14 years worked for the Porterfield & Ellis company in northern Michigan. Four years ago he established his home with his sister, Mrs. R.B. German, in Blissfield, Mich., and has lived there since that time.
He had been farming a 10 acre field about a quarter of a mile from his sister's home, and was on his way there when the accident occurred. Just before he reached his destination, a car came over a hill on the wrong side of the road and struck him, killing him instantly, according to his sister.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. R.E. Telford, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. W.B. Elliott, Detroit, Mich.; and Mrs. German, Blissfield, and his brother, Charles (II) Oconto.
A short prayer service was held at the German home in Blissfield Tuesday night before the body was brought to Oconto for burial. Rev. S.H. Lloyd will officiate at the funeral services this afternoon, after which burial will take place in the Evergreen cemetery.
Pall bearers include Oliver Carriveau, O.P. Safford, Albert Zuehl, Ed. Belongia, George DeCloux and Louis Olson.
Friends in Little River were sorry to hear that Harry Quirt passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Myrtle German at Blissfield, Mich., following his figuring in a car accident on Monday. Mr. Quirt, who was born and raised in Little River, resided here until a short time ago.
