Wilma M. Christianson, age 77, of Townsend, passed away at St. Joseph Hospice, Marshfield, WI on September 10, 1999. Wilma was born in Mountain on July 31, 1922 to William and Mary Zahn Ramsdell. She graduated from Wabeno High School as Valedictorian of her class. On September 9, 1941 she was united in marriage to Rudolph "Rudy" Christianson. The couple lived in Waterford for 7 years before moving to Townsend. She loved gardening and crocheting and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include four daughters; Karen (Hector) Benevides, Waterford; Judy (Bob) Habeck, Townsend; Colleen (Clarence) Cumber, Townsend; and Carol (Murray) Hayden of Wabeno; three sons, Robert (Bernice) Christianson of Union Grove, David (Sue) Christianson of Townsend; Peter (Peggy) Christianson of Townsend; one son-in-law, Doug Matthews of Anchorage, Alaska; four sisters; Lois (Paul) Lavata of Cudahy, Pat (Arnie) Uttke of Waupaca, Eva Brooks and Grace Adams of Wabeno; one brother, Bill (Barbara) Ramsdell of Atlanta, GA, 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded un death by one daughter Connie Mathews; four brothers Harvey, Orville, Peter, and Marvin; one sister Ruth and her husband Rudy in 1983. Visitation was held on Monday September 13, at the Suminski Funeral Home in Wabeno from 2:00 p.m. until the time if the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gerald Behling officiating. Honorary pallbearers: Tom Matthews and Barb Christianson. Active pallbearers: Chris Benevides, Daniel Christianson, Luke Christianson, Katie Richlen, Adam Habeck, and Paul Jakes. Burial in Forest Home Cemetery, Townsend.
