POUND - Walter Leisner, 75, died Wednesday afternoon, January 5, 2000 at home. He is at peace with the Lord after a long illness. Walter was born February 8 1924 at Milwaukee to the late Paul and Lydia (Kopatz) Leisner. He married the former Marian (Kalbes) on September 18,1947 at Section Eight Baptist Church, Pound. The couple celebrated 52 years of marriage and spent most of their married life in Pound working together on their farm. They retired several years ago and traveled as much as they could to Alaska and Arizona. Besides farming, Walter worked at the former Country Gardens, Coleman, was involved in road maintenance for the Town of Bagley, and was also involved in logging. He was a member of Section Eight Baptist Church, Pound.

He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends, and loved ones, especially his loving wife Marian; their four children, Audrey (Harry) Jensen, Green Bay; Leonard (Sandy) Leisner and Patti (Bruce) Swenty, Pound; Annette (Dan) Sell, Suring; 10 grandchildren, Shelly, Sandra, Richard, Jenny, Ryan, Keith, Tammie, Brad, Courtney, and D.J.; six great-grandchildren, Emilie, Lydia, Malorie, Seth, Bailey, and Reno; a brother, Robert (Penny) Leisner, Pound; four sisters, Helen (Arnold) Hansen, Underhill; Lorraine Pusick, Coleman; Shirley Swenty and June (Melvin) Brault, Pound; two sisters-in-law, Jeannie Leisner, Milwaukee; Carol (John) Kanz, Marinette;

Besides his parents, he was further preceded in death by two brothers, Paul, Jr. and Donald; two brothers-in-law, Harry Flusick and Wilbert Swenty; and a sister-in-law, Lilia Leisner.

The funeral was held Sat., January 8 at his church with the Rev. Ronald Hoffman officiating. Interment in First Baptist Cemetery, Pound. Pallbearers were Dan Younk, Rick Hujet, Richard Jensen, Ryan and Keith Leisner, Brad Swenty, Daniel Sell, Jr., and Tom Tilkens.
