William James COOK, 87, of Mountain, died June 23, 1999 at his home
William was born October 22, 1911 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Fred and Ella (SHARPE) COOK. William lived most of his life in the Oconto County area. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On February 17, 1951 he married Peggy PINTER. William worked as a Forestry Technician for the U.S. Forest Service until his retirement.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, White Lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the violin, gardening and listening to music.
Survivors include his wife Peggy, Mountain; one daughter, Peggysue COOK, Mountain; one son, William COOK, Jr., Dillon, Montana and special friend, Sandy EXFERD; special brother-in-law, Alex (Lea) PINTER, Townsend; two granddaughters, Laura and Katie COOK and their mother, Sharon COOK. William was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herbie and Bobbie, and a sister, Nora.
At his request, no formal services were held. Suminski funeral Home, Wabeno, assisted the family.
