Walter J. BABICKY

Walter J. Babicky, 60, of Route 1, Suring died November 5, 1999 at Woods Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee, of cancer.

He was born in Milwaukee June 30, 1939 to Walter and Lucille (Schaller) Babicky. Walter retired from the U.S. Army in 1976 after 20, years of service as a Master Sergeant E-8. He did tours in Korea, Germany, Alaska, and served in Vietnam from September 1966 to September 1967. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, 2nd Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Ribbon, and The National Defense Service Ribbon.

Walter married Rosalie Reed May 11, 1957 in New Albany, Indiana. Walter was currently employed at Jim Kane Chevrolet in Oconto Falls.

Survivors include his wife Rosie of Suring; two sons, Ken (Kris) Babicky of Mation, Deven Babicky of Las Vegas, NV; his daughter, Jackie (Al) Miller of Hintz; two grandsons; four step-grandchildren; his mother, Lucille Babicky of Hubertus, WI; two brothers, Allen Babicky and friend Carol of Saukville, John (Linda) Babicky of Suring. He is further survived by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emerald and Leona Reed, Suring; two brothers-in-law, Vince (Mary) Reed of Olney, MT, Sidney "Pete' Reed of Suring; nieces, nephews, other relatives and, many friends and especially his dog Poopie Doo.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Saturday November 13 at 1:30 p.m. until memorial services followed by military rites at 2:30 p.m.
