William C. Flowers Dies Saturday, Rites Today

William C. Flowers, 84, of Oconto Falls died at 5 p.m. on August 24, at the
Eckland Convalescent Home in Peshtigo.  He had been ill for the past eight
months.

Mr. Flowers was born October 4, 1872 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.  He came to
Oconto Falls when he was a young boy.  He worked at the Falls Paper and Power
Co., as a millwright and then retired at the age of 65.  On September 13,
1894 he was married to the former Martha Peters at Oconto.

Funeral services will be held at Soulek Funeral Home Tuesday, August 27 at 2
p.m. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Lewis officiating.

Friends may call at the Soulek Funeral home until the time of the services.

Mr. Flowers is survived by two daughters, Vivian Nicolai of Oconto Falls and
Myrtle Seiltz of Iron Mountain.  One son preceded him.  Four brothers,
Spofford, James, and Fred of Oconto Falls and George of Wausau, six
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.

William Flowers, 83, Is Buried Wednesday 

Oconto Falls, Wis. - Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Flatley funeral parlors for William Flowers, 83, a pioneer resident of Oconto county. Infirmities due to old age caused his death. The Rev. V. T. Nearhoof officiated with internment in the Woodlawn cemetery. Mr. Flowers was married at Dalhause, New Brunswick to Jane Cummings in 1870 and a few years latter they settled in Oconto, where they resided for more than twenty years, after which they moved to Oconto Falls. Five sons who surviving are William Jr. Spotford, James and George, all of this city, and Frederick town of Spruce. His wife preceded him in death five years ago.

Mr. Flowers was interested in logging the greater part of his life. He had charge of logging camps in northern Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The pallbearers were his five sons and one grandson.
