William E Cook
William “Bill” E. Cook, 77, of Lena died peacefully Sunday, December 16,
2012 at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls with his family at his
side. He was born to the late John and Loretta (Neta) Cook March 15, 1935 in
Lena at the home he lived at his whole life. He married Shirley Reed of
Oconto on May 14, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Oconto. Bill worked
at Scott Paper Mill for over 40 years and retired in 1994. Bill also farmed
his whole life at the family farm which has been in operation for over a
century, he took over in 1961. Bill enjoyed hunting, farming, fishing,
trapping, logging and going to auctions. He was a member of St. Anne
Catholic Parish and a member of the Lena Council 6924 Knights of Columbus.
Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley, Four children, Stanley
(Janet) Cook, Sylvester “Salvo” Cook, Scott (Janice) Cook, and Wendy (Mike)
Klaus, all of Lena, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren whom he loved
and enjoyed dearly, one sister, Lucille (Ron) Reinert of Thiensville, three
brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and infant
brother, Stanley. Friends may call at St. Anne Catholic Church, Lena Friday,
December 21st from 9 A.M. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at
11 A.M. with Father Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Bill will be laid to
rest at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Lena. Please visit
