Walter C. Retzlaff, 94, of Menasha died Wednesday, January 20, 1999 at
Colony Oaks Care Center in Appleton. He was born January 6, 1905 in
Oconto, WI. Walter married Jocelyn at Tremmel-Lewandowski in
September of 1979. He was employed at Kimberly Clark Badger Globe Mill,
where he was a member of their Quarter Century Club, before his
retirement in January of 1970. Walter was a United States Army veteran
serving in WWII. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion
Post 74 in Oconto, Men's Fellowship Club of Neenah and Menasha for over
27 years and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neenah where he was involved
with the Young at Heart Group.
Walter is survived by his wife, Jocelyn; two stepdaughters, Donna Drafz,
Milwaukee and Beverly (Steven) Geiger, Neenah; special nieces and
nephews, friends and neighbors. Walter was preceded in death by his
parents; six bothers; four sisters, and two wives: Beatrice and Dolores.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 1999 at St.
Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. James Seim officiating. Interment will be
in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. Friends called from 9:30 a.m. until
the time of the service Saturday at the church. A memorial has been
established. Laemmrich Community Funeral Home assisted the family.
