Funeral Rites
for William George

William George, 1212 south Twenty-fourth street, who died February 11 at the University hospital in Iowa City, was buried March 6 at McGuire's cemetery, McGuire's Bend, near Lehigh. Burial was delayed because of the condition of the roads, which made it impossible to reach the cemetery.

William Charlton George was born September 26, 1887, at Greenbay, Wis., and died February 11, 1936, at the age of 48 years. When a young man he moved to Fort Dodge, where he made his home with his aunt, Mrs. Harry Smidth. On March 24, 1909, he was married to Miss Alta Mae Ruby. To this union two children were born. Besides his widow and two children, Cecil, 26, and Mrs. Elsie Loar, 24, Mr. George is survived by three sisters and two brothers. They are Mrs. Elsie Patterson of Grand Rapids, Mich; Mrs. Navy Fitzpatrick of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Alyda Morian of Roseburg, Ore.; John George of Holland, Mich., and Robert George of Muskegon, Mich. A grandson, Richard Charlton George, also survives. His mother, father, and one brother preceeded him in death.

The Rev. C. W. Hautzenrader of the Central Church of Christ conducted the funeral services. The pallbearers were Fred Jen- kins, Orville Crandail, Robert Ruby and Wilber Sell.
