Wilbert Longsine Obituary



Wilbert "Buboy" Longsine, 88, of Oconto, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Sun Valley Homes II, Oconto. Wilbert was born June 8, 1925 in Oconto to the late Fred "Pat" and Sarah (Hanes) Longsine. He married Arlene Olive Zoeller on September 21, 1946. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2007. Wilbert served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Hancock during WWII. He worked many years for the Scott Paper Company, eventually retiring from there. Wilbert enjoyed hunting, watching the Atlanta Braves and most of all watching his grand kids playing sports. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto.

Wilbert is survived by a son, Clark (Becky) Longsine, Oconto; three sisters, Geraldine Morin, Oconto; Charmaine Galban, IL; Sally (Richard) Glawe, Oconto; three grandchildren, Roberta Jo Longsine, Joshua (Kelli) Longsine, Jordan Longsine; two great grandchildren Evelyn Longsine and Gabriel Longsine and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Wilbert is preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Guzman; two brothers-in-law, Tony Morin and Manuel Galban.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, from 9 to 11 AM Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Military Rites by American Legion Post 74, Oconto.
