"Rite here on Thursday For Wm. Meyer, 87"
 

"Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. Thursday at the Peace Church, Unity Church of Christ, Shawano, for William A Meyer, well-known Shawano businessman."

"Mr. Meyer, 408 Picnic Street, died at 9a.m. Tuesday at his home at the age of 87. He suffered a lingering illness with a heart condition. He was a barber for 20 years and in the insurance business here for 48 years."

"Born at Pensaukee on June 11th, 1872 he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Meyer. On May 3rd, 1809 he was united in marriage at Cecil to Lu Hinkle. She died in 1924 and in 1926 he was married to Josephine Larson. She passed away in 1957."

"He was very active in the affairs of the Peace Church, a member of the Church Brotherhood and also served as Deacon of the Church and its Treasurer. He was a Master Mason of the Shawano Masonic Lodge and in the past had been an affiliated with the Odd Fellows, the Moose Lodge and the Woodman Organization."

"Surviving children include (Della) Mrs. Otto Staidl of Two Rivers, (Eleanor) Mrs. Arthur Pahr of Shawano and (Myrtle) Mrs. Jack Kroenke of Shawano; Arthur C., Al D., William F. Jr., and Orie A. of Shawano; Royal E. of Manitowoc and Floyd L. of Green Bay. Three children preceded him in death, Erwin in infancy and Grace and John in their teens. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. One grandchild, Betty Lu, preceded him in death."

"Reverend W. Waeckerie will officiate at the services with Masonic Rites at Woodlawn Cemetery. Masons are reminded to meet at the Masonic Hall at 1:30 p.m. Thursday."
