Viola Vorpahl HARLEY Viola Harley, 87, of 225 Hammes St., Coleman died Monday, May 15, 2000 at Sharpe Care, ltd. in Oconto Falls.
The daughter of the late Frank and Mary Vorpahl was born March 2, 1913 at Luxemburg, WI. Viola was married to John Kostrova on August 4, 1937 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Klondike. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1956. On April 24, 1963 Vi was married to Francis Harley at the former St. John Catholic Church, Coleman. She worked in Green Bay, Chicago and was a cook at the former Helen & Leo's Supper Club, Pound. She also worked for Dr. Antoine Barrette at Peshtigo. She was a member of St. Ann Altar Society of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman.
Surviving are her husband, Francis Harley, Coleman; one daughter, Bernita Heisler, Oak Creek, WI; one granddaughter, Lisa Heisler, Manitowoc; one sister, Augusta (Carl) Behringer, Oconto Falls; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Kirk Heisler; three brothers, Roy, Walter and James Vorpahl.
Friends called at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman where a wake service was held. Mass of Christian Burial was conducted 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 18,2000 at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman. Rev. John Hephner officiated with burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Coleman.
