She was born to the late Archie and Mary (Jarvis) Patenaude May 13, 1911 in the Town of Brazeau, WI. Veronica married Peter Hearley December 24, 1926 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Oconto. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto and St. Anne's Society.
Surviving are her children, Bernard Hearley, Butler, WI; Bernadette (James) Clark, Phoenix, AZ; Robert (Linda) Hearley, Abrams; 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; one brother, Melvin (Lillian) Patenaude, Hartford; two daughters-in-law, Faye Hearley, Oconto; Anita Hearley, Oconto; one son-in-law, Gene Deprey, Oconto Falls; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Patenaude, Oconto Falls; Adelle Patenaude, Little Suamico. Veronica was preceded in death by three sons, Franklin, Francis and George; one daughter, Marlene Deprey; five brothers, Nelson, Sam, Edmund, Erving, and Lucian; three sisters, Rose Strange, Lucille Dionne and Betty Steinkrause, and one daughter-in-law, Anna Hearley.
Friends called at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago Street, Oconto. St. Anne's Society Rosary Service and a Parish Vigil Service was held. The Funeral Mass was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto (St. Joseph site) at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 12, with Rev. David C: Ruby officiating. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
