VERNON BARKE OBITUARY

Vernon A. Barke Mr. Vernon A. Barke, age 90, of Dacula, Ga., passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mardel O. Barke. He is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Bill Van Every, Lawrenceville, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Duane Chase Barke and Maryann, Dacula, Ga.; grandchildren, Michelle and Steve Tubbs, Jasper, Ala., and Troy and Gina Van Every, Gainesville, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Austin Van Every and Nathan Van Every; sisters, Grace Dunlap, Oconto Falls, Wis., and Delores Meifert, Fredona, Wis.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Barke was born April 19, 1919, in Gillett, Wis. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Force in World War II and was a disable America Veteran. He was a retired cabinet-maker. He worked at Florida State University. He was of the Lutheran Faith. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. EDT in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Ty Blackburn officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga., at 2 p.m. EDT with military honors. The visitation will be on Sunday afternoon from 4 until 6 p.m. EDT.
