Thomas Kowalczyk Obituary



Thomas "Tom" Kowalczyk, 65, Oconto Falls, died peacefully Tuesday morning, Jan. 24, 2012, at home, with his wife and children present. He was born May 29, 1946, in Milwaukee, to John and Mary (Karpeck) Kowalczyk. As a teenager, Tom moved with his family to Oconto Falls, where he graduated from high school with the class of 1965.

On Jan. 4, 1969, he married Patricia "Patti" Wonser in Oconto. Tom lived in Milwaukee, Oconto Falls and Appleton where he worked for Plexus and Magna Graphics. Tom moved back to Oconto Falls in 1998 following the death of his wife. Twelve years later, Tom was blessed to have someone very special, Marjorie Snyder, come into his life and they were married Dec. 31, 2011, in Oconto Falls. Tom was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and at one time, enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors are his wife, Margie Kowalczyk, Oconto Falls; two daughters, Tracy (David) Lorens, Plymouth; Shannon (Salvador) Diaz, Milwaukee; five grandchildren, Tim and Ryan Albrechtson, Hannah Lorens, Maria and Francisco Diaz; his stepchildren, Misty Earley, Oconto Falls; Nichole Earley, Oconto; five step-grandchildren, Shelbe (Jeff) Kafka, Seth Fiddler, Jade Effenberger, Preston Chandler and 16 month old Blake "Baba" Allen Wenzel, who he shared a special relationship with; one sister, Dolores (Jim) Van Dornick, Oconto Falls; one brother, John (Pat) Kowalczyk, Oconto Falls; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Patti.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls (920-848-2222 or visit: www.jonesfuneral.com). Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at St. Anthony Catholic Church until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Joel Sember officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
