THOMAS MELODY DIES SATURDAY MORNING

Thomas Melody, 61, well known carpenter and painter, died at his home, 703 Clark avenue, in this city (Oconto), Saturday morning, May 14 (1927), of a complication of diseases. He had been in ill health about two years, but had been confined to his bed only three weeks.

Mr. Melody was born in Town of Rockland, Brown county, October 22, 1865. Twenty-six years ago he came to Oconto County, locating on a farm in the Town of Pensaukee. He was married to Eva Smith of Abrams at Stiles November 21, 1911. Three years ago the family moved to Oconto. Prior to moving here Mr. Melody was town clerk of Pensaukee for 6 years,

He leaves to morn his death a wife, five children, Norbert, Claire, Benjamin, Mary and Giles, and two brothers, Michael pf Athelstane, Wis., and Walter of Tacoma, Wash.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at nine o'clock fron St. Joseph's Catholic church, Rev. L.C. Becker officiating. Interment was mad in the Brookfield cemetery. The pallbearers were; Louis Erdman, William Pillsbury, Frank Foster. Frank Ellner, William Seipold (Siebold), and John McGovern.

People from out of the city (Oconto) who attended the funeral were: Michael Melody of Athelstane, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Atkins and daughters Arlene and Edna, of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Addie Windross and daughter, Ardis, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Behling, Mrs. Matie Erdman, daughter Lulu, and son, Everett, Raymond Matravers, Mrs. Joseph LeFebvre, of Brookside, Mrs. Mary Smith, Mrs. N. Pierre and Webb Leonard, of Abrams, George Laughlin and Mr. and Mrs. George Porter and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Porter of Lena.
