.Dies at Oconto Falls hospital .

.Theophile Markiewicz, age 90, died  July 25, 2005.   He was born Dec. 15, 1914 to Joseph and Anna [Pawlak] Markiewicz in the town of Spruce. He married the former Mary Yashinsky Oct. 8, 1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spruce.  Mary died April 4, 1973.

He then married former Amalie Jundt on Aug.9, 1980 at Sacred Heart Catholic, Spruce. Amalie preceded him in death April 22, 1995. Theophile farmed in the Town of Spruce for 38 years. He served as Chairman, Assessor and Supervisor of the town of Spruce for many years, He also served on the Oconto County Fair Board. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spruce  where he played orgen for 35 years. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, quilting and making rugs. He was also very involved with the Oconto Falls Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors are seven children; Donald [Carol], Bellevue, Neb.; Gerald {Linda] Spruce; Allen[Sonja], Madison; James {Jeanne] Pound; Joyce {Jon] Woulf, Coleman; Cynthia [Chad] Holtz, Oconto Falls; David {Sandy}, Suamico; three stepchildren, Flora [ Richard]  Schweinert, Brookfield; Emma Collins, Green Bay; Toni [preceded in death by Emil Jundt] Jundt , Menomonee Falls; 33 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren;  two sisters, Irene Wojiechowski, Green Bay; and Anna Sobeck, Stiles. he was also preceded in death by stepson, Emil Jundt, three sisters and seven brothers.

Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena  Wednesday,July 27, 2005 from 10am untill 12:30 pm. The funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Spruce [former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spruce] at 1pm with Father Finian Zaucha O.F.M. offficiating. Entombment at Allouez Catholic Cemetery, Green Bay.
