Tinus JOHNSON

Tinus Johnson age 99 of the town of Lessor, died about 7 p.m. Saturday night at his home. He was born in Kongsbers, Norway on Feb. 3 1861. His parents were Mr. And Mrs. Herman Johnson. In 1874 at the age of 13 he came to Maple Grove and later lived in the town of Angelica where he worked in various sawmills as a shingle weaver. He returned to Maple Grove later as a farmer.

On May 17, 1887 he was marred to Gunnilk Gulickson at Kaukauna. His wife has been dead for he past 49 years. He was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church of the town of Lessor. Survivors include one daughter Mrs. Elmer (Laura) Sechrist who lived on the farm.

The funeral was held at 1:30 Wednesday, Feb. 7th at the farm home and at 2:00p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church. The Rev. Orian Anderson will officiate and internment will be at the church Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Wendt Funeral Home of Bonduel tonight and will be taken to the home on Tuesday morning.
