Shirley A. Pierquet, 61, Oconto, died Sunday afternoon, March 21, 1999 at home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Shirley was born October 19, 1937 in Oconto, the daughter of the late Horace and Alice (Beaucock) Winans. Shirley resided in rural Oconto and Green Bay all of her life. Most recently she was employed by NEWCAP in Oconto as a receptionist. Shirley enjoyed raising animals on the farm, and shared that experience with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Ann) Pierquet of Green Bay and Greg (Kathleen) Pierquet of Point Mugu, CA; three daughters, Lynn (Wayne) VanDoorn of Seymour, Kathy (Alan) Funk and Lori Piequet of Green Bay; a very special friend, Lamont "Fess" Griebeler of Oconto; three grandchildren, Amber and Jacob Funk and Breigh Pierquet; three brothers, Willard (Marilyn) Winans of Pulaski, Wayne (Terri) Winans of Madison and Roger (Judy) Winans of Oconto; seven sisters, Dawn (Frederick) Topel and Carol Maynard) Fields of Oconto, Judy (David) Hammersley and Linda (James) O'Brien of Madison, Joyce (John) Nelson of Kenosha, Lorraine (Jerry) Fannin and Peggy (Willard) Beaumeier of Green Bay; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, LeRoy, Glenn, and Denny.
The family received relatives and friends at Zion mLutheran Church, Superior Avenue, Oconto from 4:00 until 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25. Service of Christian Burial was held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. TomP. Willadsen officiating. Interment at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Shirley's memory.
