Samuel P. Moore, 55, a resident of Oconto Falls for a number of years, passed away very suddenly at his home on Sunday. Mr. Moore was born April 2, 1912 in North East, Maryland, the son of James and Alma Moore. Mr. Moore attended schools in Maryland and college at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from the Drexel Institute in 1935. In the thirties he was united in marriage to the former Regis Pierce and to this union one daughter was born.

Mr. Moore was employed by the Scott Paper Company as Chemical Engineer and had served in that capacity in Chester, Pa., Brunswick, Georgia, Hoboken, N.J. and Oconto Falls. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Oconto Falls, and was its past president, member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of that church, and was a member of Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Looze Council # 4869.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife Regis, one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Jane) Bartels of Green Bay, and one brother, James L. Moore of Wilmington, Del., plus other relatives.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 10 am from the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Tomczyk officiating. The body wad taken to Sippies Mortuary in Savannah, Georgia for burial in the Catholic cemetery in Savannah. The Soulek Funeral home of Oconto Falls was in charge of the local arrangements.
