Serio "Seeds" Venturini, 82, Mountain, found peace after a long illness on Friday, July 27, 2001 at a Green Bay hospital.

He was born on March 21, 1919 in Rhode Island to the late Angelo and Jenny (Gambini) Venturini. He married the former Esther Korpal on November 30, 1940 in Dubuque, IA and she preceded him in death on April 24, 1977. Shortly after their marriage and the birth of their first child, Serio was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1942 where he faithfully served in the European Theater as both a cook and a medic during World War II. After returning from the war, he made his home in Milwaukee and worked for many years at Falk Corp. before retiring in 1981. Serio will be remembered by his family as a great bowler, singer, playing the harmonica, gardening and someone who enjoyed searching for and picking mushrooms for cooking his delicious meals but is especially remembered as the best dad and grandpa.

He is survived by four children and spouses: Janice and Ken Klusman of Mountain, David and Tammie Venturini of Kenosha, Betty and Erik Miller of Portage, Sharon and Mike Goyette of Oshkosh; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; one sister, Irma (Bob) Ames of Florida; two brothers-in-law, Norbert (Lorraine) Korpal of Indiana, Arthur Wieber of Abrams; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife Esther; his parents; one sister, Linda Dannan; one brother, Frankie Venturini; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Friends may call at Forest Home Cemetery Chapel, 2405 West Forest Home Ave., Milwaukee, Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral service Wednesday 11 a.m. at the cemetery chapel. West Mason Malcore Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Serio's family thanks Mary Ann Klappa for all the genuine love, care and compassion which she showered upon Serio throughout his illness. Also a special thanks to the staff at Woodland Village Nursing Home in Suring for their kind care.
