Stella J. Lambrecht(1914 - 1914)

Lambrecht, Stella J.

Stella J. Lambrecht, 101, Gillett, died peacefully Wednesday morning, February 3, 2016 at St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls with family and close friends present. The second youngest of eight children was born April 1, 1914 to Jacob and Martha (Olson) Hanson. Stella grew up in the Suring area where she graduated high school and not long after became a "Big Sister" to a very special niece, Jean Goodman-Ruege and the two would stay close their entire lives.

In 1953, she married Cyril Lambrecht and the couple lived in the Gillett area for all of their married lives. Stella once worked at Gillett Plywood, Mueller's Grocery Store, for her niece at Kane Shoe Store in Gillett and later for her nephew at The Flower Shoppe & Greenhouse. She also cared for many children over the years in Gillett and enjoyed watching them grow up. Stella loved to knit afghans, scarves and mittens to give away to family and friends. She crocheted up until just recently. She liked to care for her flower garden and pick strawberries to share with others. As an avid card player and word book writer, Stella kept her mind sharp right up until the end of her life. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett.

Survivors are her one son, Gary Lambrecht, Gillett; her "little sis", Jean E. Ruege, Gillett; longtime special neighbor and friends, Sandy Rank and her family; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 25, 1969, three brothers and four sisters.

Visitation with the urn present will be held after 9am Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett until the time of service. Memorial services will be held 11am Saturday at the church with Pastor Doreen Jeffers officiating. Burial will follow in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett. Jones Funeral Service is serving the Lambrecht family.
