SAM WINTER, 100, PASSED AWAY JUNE 21

Sam H. Winter, 100 of Suring, died last Wednesday at Oconto Falls Nursing Home. Born Nov. 27, 1877 in Shawano County he moved to Oconto County in 1929. He married the former Marie Anderson in 1909. She died in 1960. They farmed in the Town of Oconto Falls and later moved to Maple Valley where he owned and operated the Winter Cheese Factory.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Jack Meyer and Mrs. Cecile Siegler of Green Bay; a son, Lee of Suring; a brother, Edward of Green Bay; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. 4 brothers and 3 sisters died previously. Friends may call at the Soulek Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday. Final rites were held Saturday at Maple Valley Trinity Church with the Rev. Floyd Gogolin officiating. Burial was in the Oconto Falls Cemetery.
