SEVER ANDERSON,
Funeral services were held from the farm home near Mountain Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Marvin Raymond, student pastor of the Lutheran church, in charge, B. J. Rohan, superintendent of schools in Appleton spoke briefly on the life of the man. Burial was in the Mountain cemetery, with members of the Modern Woodmen in charge. The funeral was attended by a large number of friends from over the entire county. Sever Anderson was born in Sweden and came to this country with his parents when nine years of age. They settled on a farm near Seymour, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Jennie Baldwin.
He was a pioneer settler in northern Oconto County,. Later the railroad was built through that region and Mountain was founded near his land. In addition to farming, he was active in logging in that region. In 1918 the Sever Anderson Logging Co. was organized and he conducted it until disposing of his interest five or six years ago. Since then he has been retired. At one time he was interested in the Anderson & Co. general store in the village. Mr. Anderson was a leader in the community and throughout the entire county and for many years was town chairman and a member of the county board. He also served on the school board of his district. He was always interested in helping his fellow man and well known as a broad human sort of person, who served as a counselor to many of his neighbors and friends.
Those who survive are four sons, Arthur and Roy, at home Emil and Sever, Tomahawk, and daughter, Edna. The wife preceded him in death by several years.
